Railway Location Codes

- CRSÂ Computer Reservation System, a 3 letter code allocated to most major junctions and railway stations in England Scotland and Wales.
- TIPLOC Timing Point Location, essentially a shortened version of the location’s full name. Rail Record live train times allows you to search by TIPLOC. TIPLOC names are restricted to 7 letters.
- STANOX are numbers allocated to various railway locations.
- TOPS lists use another railway location name called STANME – you can search TOPS locations by clicking TOPS Location Names from the Enthusiast Resources menu.
This list is up to date as of 3rd September 2020. An up-to-date tiploc list is provided by Network Rail through the open data feeds and maintained on a regular basis.
